There is nothing unqiue about the LHC -- it can't accelerate faster than nature already does. It can't accelerate particles that don't already exist in nature. The LHC is nothing more that a tool physists can use to observe those collisions in an controlled way. The important bottom line is that such black holes probably have laready formed and will form again naturally in the future. So far the earth hasn't been swallowed up, nor has there been any cosmic evidence of this happening throughout our observations. This is nothing more than unfounded fear mongering. There is NO risk.
